“You Ugly Fat Cow!”

For months, I have been telling you that life happens from the inside out. Our thoughts drive our behavior, our perception of happiness, self and others, and they even drive our future.

The other day, I was reminded of this one client I had when I was a Personal Trainer. She had come to me because she felt “awful all over” and wanted to lose some weight. As we began to work together, I noticed something extremely curious about her: she called herself “Ugly Fat Cow.”

Every time she saw herself in my wall-to-wall mirror, she would point her chin to the mirror and say, “You Ugly Fat Cow!” Probably three times a session. Or maybe more.

“You ugly fat cow.” She thought it. She believed it. She said it.

No matter how hard she worked, her weight never changed. No matter how little she ate, her weight never changed. Would you like to know why? Because she thought of herself as an ugly fat cow. It’s as simple as that.

As I gained her confidence, I began to talk to her about her thoughts. She fought me hard on it. It was excruciatingly painful for both of us. Eventually, we got to the place where she began to work with her thoughts as well as with her body.

She started to feel a bit better. Eventually, she began to believe that her thoughts matter. And she agreed to start creating thoughts that would serve her better.

It was a lot of hard work, but she changed her thoughts about herself. And as if by magic, her body changed. It’s as though God’s Word was true, isn’t it? “As a man thinks within himself, so he is.” (Proverbs 23:7)

The story on the inside always becomes the reality on the outside. There are no exceptions.

This is the work we do here at Spirit-led Coaching. And I can certainly help you! That is why created mini-sessions–to give you a taste of what that’s like. It’s free, will last about 30 minutes, and might very well change your life! And I am anything but intimidating! Curious? Come on over and book one!
